*Piezo pickups need repair* See note below - this is very common on these, particularly the older used ones, and should be expected or tested on any used model. If acoustic sounds don't matter to you, this is largely irrelevant.

MIGHT BE THE ONLY NATURALLY RELIC'D xtSA YOU'LL EVER SEE!

It actually sounds like a Les Paul! The tone of this guitar is ridiculous. I've long held that you cannot make a guitar sound just like another, particularly when so many components and build choices are completely different. Somehow Godin took a 25.5" bolt on made out of maple and poplar and turned it into a Les Paul (neck is still mahogany). The sound is thick and rich with loads of sustain, it makes no sense but its incredible. Its no wonder this guitar retails for close to $3k. Comes with padded Godin soft case.

This particular model came in pretty un-maintained. I went through it with a fine tooth comb, replacing rusted and missing hardware and deep cleaning the entire thing. Genuine replacement parts from Godin were used as much as possible (screws, washers, lock tuning caps, etc.) but it was all minor stuff. The wear pattern on this guitar is also a mystery - seemed to be a backup guitar that was frequently held but never played, or maybe they used a slide? Either way there is almost no fret/fingerboard wear but there are numerous shallow and very small marks on the back of the neck from being leaned against tables/surfaces - doesn't affect play but feels a little roughed up. Along with some aged pickups and general wear from stage use this is probably the only " natural relic'd" xtSA you might ever find. Has bumps and nicks throughout, particularly on the headstock, but outside these looks relatively lightly used.

Specs:

Poplar wing body with silver maple center

25.5" scale Mahogany neck

Richlite fingerboard - 22 fret (frets cleaned and lightly polished - not mirror though)

Custom Godin pickups (Sound just as good as my Gibsons, I don't think SD's would be an upgrade here)

Godin Locking Tuners 18:1 ratio

Bolt-on neck construction

Two point tremolo with trem arm

Piezo bridge saddles for acoustic tones *See Note Below

Midi output *Cannot test

Independent acoustic/electric outputs along with a combined option (both work)

KOA Premium figured veneer top

Godin case included as pictured

Godin's top of the line instrument at a great price, plays fantastic and every bit as good as any other Godin I've had - these are such a joy to play!

***Sold as is, piezos need repair and I have no way to test the Midi output, it very likely works as all the rest of the electronics are fine and pretty clean***

*Please ask any questions before purchase, I have many more pictures if you need*

*Piezo note: moisture has damaged the connections and disconnected the wires from the bridge saddles internally. I don't have the tools or patience to try to re-solder them on but there is plenty of lead left if you know how to do it. One or two still work and can give an idea of the tone of the acoustic sound - its VERY good. Godin has temporarily stopped the sale of these replacements due to tariff issues. The same set can be bought directly at LRBaggs for about $200 for all six saddle + wire pickup units. They drop right in, the cables feed through the bridge to the cavity like regular pickups and there is an easy access solder location for all six.

From the Web:

A jack-of-all-trades and master of all of them, the xtSA’s incredible sound power begins with three distinct voices: electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and synth. The xtSA delivers big-time electric sounds via the Godin humbucker-single-humbucker pickup configuration and thanks to a special 5-way switch setup, extra meaty humbucker tones co-exist with glassy split-coil sounds in the second and forth positions. Turn down the electric output and raise the volume on the LR Baggs transducer saddles and the xtSA becomes an incredibly authentic-sounding ‘acoustic’ guitar. The acoustic voice of the xtSA is enhanced by an onboard preamp with a three-way graphic EQ. The two outputs are set up so that the electric and acoustic voices can be blended while using a single patch cord or at the amp/mixer via both outputs. Also, the xtSA’s synth tracking, which simply put, is the best in the business. As with all of Godin synth-ready instruments, a built-in 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland™ GR-Series synths as well as most other 13-pin devices. All of this sound power would be a lot less interesting if the guitar didn’t feel great but the xtSA sure does, thanks to the same 25½” scale and mahogany neck used on the Godin LGX-SA flagship guitar. The Richlite® fingerboard is shaped with Godin’s ergocut technique and equipped with medium jumbo frets. The body is made of a silver leaf maple center with poplar wings and is topped with a Premium grade veneer of highly figured Koa.
