Selling an impeccable vintage Gibson Hummingbird! I believe it's a 1968-70, although serial numbers from that era are hard to nail down.
I purchased this guitar from the original owner's family. It has spent most all of its life in its case!
The body of the guitar is made of Honduran mahogany (back and sides), and has a spruce top. It's neck is three piece mahogany with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.
This model is more coveted than other Hummingbirds of this era due to its adjustable rosewood bridge/saddle, as well as it's all metal Schaller tuners (produced in Germany). These tuners held up much better under the fumes of the nitro lacquer finish in its case over time. They are solid, and still look brand new!
Due to the lacquer emmitting fumes in its case over time (something all vintage Gibsons are known for) this guitar has some amazing checking all over it! It looks incredible in natural light.
Recently I had the bridge reglued buy a professional luthier, due to being able to slide a business card underneath the bottom edge of it. I would rather be safe than sorry! While regluing the bridge, they also completed a professional setup of the guitar. It plays like a dream, and has such a beautiful, rich sound!
Comes with all original case candy and its original hard shell case!
