This Gibson RD Artist is a 1978 vintage model. I am the second owner for the last 45 years. It was my most goto ax for all those years. Only played at gigs rarely. There's a story behind this guitar. The serial number was neatly carved off by the previous owner, young kid form Douglas Island, Alaska. Not sure why but my guess is it was stolen.
The guitar plays like brand new. All electronics are in perfect condition. 25.5 inch neck. There's a bit of tarnish on the metal parts. Expansion effect, compressor, and the active preamp are functioning perfectly. Original Low-output Series VI humbuckers designed for the active system all functioning as if new. Multiple knobs (2 volume, master bass/treble) and two switches (3-way pickup selector, 3-way mode switch).
I did put a whammy bar on it. It's called a Stetsbar and I have another one I put on another guitar. It was one of the first Mr. Stets did, you can look it up on his website. (). The original bridge is in the case. Case is original and in very good shape. I'm not sure how well the pictures transferred, but I can always send separately if desired. I also did an iphone video showing that all the knobs and switches work.
