Randall May ABS Adjustable Back Support Plate with Foam 

The Randall May ABS Adjustable Back Support Plate with Foam is a genuine OEM component designed for Randall May MonoPosto carriers. This is also known as the whale tail or whale plate.  This back support plate provides essential comfort and stability by supporting proper posture and load distribution for marching percussion performers.

The ABS system has undergone multiple design revisions over the years. As a result, this part may vary depending on the specific generation of your carrier.

This ABS back support plate has changed many times over the years. Please call the shop before ordering to ensure you receive the correct version to match your specific Randall May carrier.

This ABS component is used on all MonoPosto carriers for snare, bass, and tenor. Replacement is relatively straightforward, attaching to the brace support on the back of the plate using two small Allen screws.

Depending on the version of your ABS system, you may also need or wish to replace the plastic back piece, which is sold separately as Randall May part number RM-ABM.
