1992, New York. Solid spruce soundboard, 7 fan, Indian Rosewood back and sides, 653mm scale, 52mm (52.38mm) nut width, D shaped neck, ebony neck reinforcement, french polished finish, with Schaller tuners. Approx. 3.97 mm from top of 12th fret to bottom of both the low E and high E strings.
If you feel a bit cramped playing a 650mm, this will be perfect for you.
This guitar has signs of normal use - finish checking and light scratches on the back, but no structural issues or cracks. Overall it’s in great shape. It will come with a hardshell style case with soft fabric exterior.
It has a lovely tone with a solid fundamental even balance, and good sustain. Not the current powerhouse that will rattle the windows, but excellent for moderate sized rooms. Bach and Scarlatti really come to life on this guitar. It was first owned by a guitar major, then sat in the case for many years. I’ve owned and played it for the last three years at home.
Nicholas Ioannou, a Greek/American luthier, built guitars in New York City at a time when Velasquez, Papazian, Del Pilar and others were active there.
