                            2016 Heritage - De Lorto Custom Golden Eagle AG15929

This unique Custom Golden Eagle was special ordered as my Personal guitar for The Heritage Guitar official clinics, presentations and guitar shows throughout California in 2017.

It is one of the last Custom Carved Tops to come out of the Kalamazoo factory during the New Ownership change over in 2015-16 from the former Heritage Guitar Founders and owners to the new Canadian development corporation Plaza-Corp along with the Hi tech sales marketing media and manufacturing conglomerate BandLab. 

What makes it Extraordinary, other than the “Custom Shop” features;

The passing of the Torch from legendary Founders, Owners and Craftsman - Jim Deurloo, Marvin Lamb, JP Moats “1936-2015” Bill Paige, Rendal Wall, Jack French and many others, all with decades of Gibson Guitar hands on experience prior to the dawning of Heritage Guitar Inc. of Kalamazoo in 1985 and continuing for more than 30 years.

Adhering to the Time tested, Tried and true methods and materials blended with a renovated state of the art factory and tooling for precise measurements along with modern machinery and the latest techniques for quality assurance.

Passing along the artistic craftsmanship of the Master builders, Wood workers, Finishers and seasoned Guitar technicians / players.

Pete Framer, David Teske, Mike Ortiz, Tim Brouhard, George Steel and Dan Struve just to name a few of the new Torch bearers. 

Full Disclosure;

This is no doubt one of the finest Golden Eagles I have owned…

After using this Custom Golden Eagle constantly for over two years in Californa with all types of weather, travel and venues.  I sent it back to the factory for refurbishment in 2018.

This included, Neck resizing to soft C shape “L-5 Feel” Refinish complete, replace Nashville  T-O-M Bridge with ABR 1 and graphite saddles.  Replaced the Grover tuners with Schaller Vintage M-6 and Imperial buttons.

It was also Re- Pleked a second time at the factory with the latest software upgrade along with a New fitted TKL Heritage case.

Many experienced hands worked on this guitar and labor intensive hours were invested. 

The Custom Shop “Addendum” Label was signed by all factory craftsman/woman.

Custom Upgrades and Specs;

Clear White Natural Figured Curly Maple Wood Package.

Top - Select solid Carved Tap Tuned “parallel/rail” braced close grain spruce of the highest order.

Back - Select solid Carved Figured Curly Maple with Matching solid Curly Maple Rims.

Pickguard - Matching “multi bound” Curly Maple pre cut “un mounted” with bracketry.

Neck - Five piece Figured Curly Maple with two Mahogany strips, Soft “C” shape with modern L-5 feel.

Fingerboard - Grade one Ebony in Cupid’s Bow fashion with figured Abalone cloud inlays along with matching head stock veneer “Golden Eagle / Branch” and Truss rod cover.

Bridge - Grade one Ebony base with ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic and Graphite saddles.

Tailpiece - Heritage “Long”  6.5” Gold Finger “Oettinger” Adjustable down pressure.

Tuners - Schaller M-6 Vintage with Imperial buttons.

Electronics - Double Duncan 59’s mounted on traditional medium and tall mounting rings with Seymour Duncan smooth 250k pots. Sprague Orange caps .022/600V. Traditional Gibson 60’s bradded and copper wired harness including Switchcraft toggle and input Jack can.

Knobs - Black Top Hat with dial pointers and black switch cap.

Body - Advanced Custom Carved Top and Back 17” Venetian cutaway, 3” Rim depth,

Multiple bound 3, 5 and 7 ply throughout with single bound “f” sound holes.

Neck specs - 25 1/2” scale, 20 frets, 12” radius, 1 11/16 “bone” nut width, 2 1/8” fingerboard width at 12th fret- Multiple bound Neck, Fingerboard and Headstock with Matching Abalone Inlays…
