Fender Japan ST57-65 AS 2TS 1994 (40th Anniversary Model) #S018905

This ST57-65 AS, a limited edition Stratocaster from Fender Japan released in 1994, is now in stock. It's finished in two-tone sunburst and weighs 3.56 kg.

The "S" serial number prefix and "MADE IN JAPAN" markings indicate it was manufactured in 1994. Fender Japan products from this period were assembled and manufactured at the Fujigen factory, providing consistent quality and excellent value while offering modern performance that's adaptable to a variety of styles.

This model is based on the '57 Stratocaster and features a deceptively luxurious-looking flame maple neck. This flame is in fact a "Foto Flame" finish, in which an AA-grade flame pattern is printed onto a thin polymer which is applied and then sealed onto a plain maple neck. The catalog describes it as having a "printed finish using gravure printing technology (intaglio printing)." The Foto Flame logo is featured on the back of the headstock.

Other specifications include an alder body, 7.25mm radius, a small headstock with a spaghetti logo, and a white single-ply pickguard, giving this guitar a vintage look. A large U neck profile helps to produces a powerful, full-bodied single-coil sound.

The controls are simple: a 5-way selector, volume, front tone, and center tone. The pickups are unspecified, so it's difficult to say for sure, but they're likely the original "ST-VINTAGE."

These anniversary models are often crafted with particular care, and Japanese craftsmen meticulously recreated the essence of classic Fender guitars in every detail. This model is rare, even pre-owned, and likely shows little use, so it's in excellent condition. Don't miss this opportunity!
