Fender 300PS 300-Watt Tube Bass Head | ~1975 | Good Condition

This is one of the coolest tube bass heads ever made. Basically a scaled-down version of the Fender 400PS, this monster puts out 300W RMS, and when pushed will hit around 660W total output (if the output jack is to be believed). It can get super distorted, but the clean tone is warm and rich. This is easily louder than an Ampeg SVT, and weighs around 20lbs less than even a modern SVT.

The bass and guitar modes make this pretty versatile, and the parametric EQ knobs help with that even more. The optional distortion knob is the most interesting feature on here. At low volumes, it sounds absolutely awful, but when cranked, it adds an interesting almost octave overdrive tonality that really fills out a room. A really cool feature on this is that you can run line output to a mixer or recorder and have speaker output at the same time, which is hard to find on an old amp like this. Definitely ahead of its time, way better than what Ampeg SVTs could handle at this time.

The frontplate has been replaced with just a cloth faceplate, but that's really the only cosmetic damage on here, it's overall in pretty good condition, and the headshell is still rock solid. Someone did modify it to have a fan, but with this pushing the tubes as hard as it does, that's good for extending tube life. This comes with 4x 6550 tubes, with a 6V6 driver and a 12AX7 + 12AU7 preamp tube complement, and outputs at 8 ohms. Really sad to see this one go, but I'm just not gigging as much as I used to, and don't need the power anymore. Great chance to pick up one of the coolest amps you'll ever see!
