1961 Gibson Les Paul Standard
Great player, low action everywhere on neck.
Lightweight 7 lbs 7 oz.
Incredible tone, insanely comfortable, feels like home when you're playing it.
So many changes...
The original factory applied cherry finish changed to finish shown in pix.
No routes.
Repaired headstock break before refin as evidenced by finish crack over old solid repair.
Side to side Vibrola changed to mid 60's wired gold ABR featuring the distinctive DJ mark and patent number and gold stop tailpiece (side to side vibrola's really suck, work poorly and were an engineering disaster).
Pickups changed to patent sticker 1966-68 era T tops.
Pots and caps changed at some point, see pix.
Knobs changed.
Tuners changed to gold Patent Pending Grovers.
Refretted at some point, frets look new with no wear.
Comes with a letter from Gibson's Service Department manager in answer to a question about this guitar in 1972, note he's wrong about the details about the pickups.
Ships in modern Gibson SG case.
