The Balrog distortion was designed to emulate a high gain tube amp by way of cascading gain stages, through a trio of RC4558 opamps. And needless to say, Blackhawk amplifiers know a thing or two about how to achieve that.
The idea was to create a pedal that could serve as a high gain preamp, distortion and overdrive in one. The MkII version brings everything from vintage overdrive to contemporary extreme Metal, Doom and Hardcore high gain tones.
And for the occasion, Blackhawk even went with a new, cleaned up look (if you know you know) for this Cult FX Exclusive variant.
