Taylor 2002 Liberty Tree Grand Concert - Natural
Own a genuine piece of American history with the Taylor Liberty Tree Grand Concert. This incredibly limited instrument—one of only 400 produced—is crafted from the wood of the last surviving "Liberty Tree" from the Revolutionary War era. The back and sides are made from the 400-year-old Tulip Poplar that once stood on the campus of St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland. This was the very tree under which the Sons of Liberty met to plot their resistance against the British crown. Felled by Hurricane Floyd in 1999 and rescued by Bob Taylor, this wood has been given a second life as a voice for freedom.
Beyond its museum-grade provenance, this guitar is a stunning musical tool. The Tulip Poplar back and sides pair with a high-grade Sitka Spruce top to produce a tone often described as a "sweet" middle ground between Walnut and Maple. Expect a clear, ringing voice with a bright, airy chime that offers excellent note separation—perfect for fingerstyle players and collectors alike. The visual appointments are equally patriotic, featuring a laser-etched scroll of the Declaration of Independence running along the fretboard, a rosette boasting 13 stars for the original colonies, and a pre-Revolutionary War pennant inlay. This is not just a guitar; it is a playable artifact of the American spirit.
