Engineered for Speed and Versatility:

The RG470 embodies Ibanez's legendary craftsmanship: a lightweight basswood body for balanced resonance and sustain, contoured for hours of comfortable play without fatigue. Its has what I believe to be a replaced neck (or special order) that features a super-slim profile that is a dream for fast runs and intricate solos, topped with a maple fretboard. Equipped with humbucker pickups at the neck and bridge, plus a single-coil in the middle, this guitar delivers a killer tonal palette—from scorching leads and chunky rhythms to clean, articulate chimes. The Edge II floating tremolo system lets you dive-bomb with stability, making it perfect for metal maestros, rock rebels, or anyone craving that versatile, high-gain growl.

Excellent Condition with Character:

Meticulously maintained over the years, this RG470 is in excellent overall shape, showing only light signs of love from its adventures. There's just one little chip on the bottom edge—a tiny battle scar that adds authentic vibe without affecting playability or looks from afar. No major dings, scratches, or structural issues; it's clean, solid, and exudes that vintage cool factor while feeling fresh and reliable.

Pro-Setup Perfection:

Fresh from a professional luthier's touch, this beast is fully dialed in for optimal performance: buttery-smooth action, spot-on intonation, and a tone that's responsive, dynamic, and ready to sing. Whether you're bending notes to the heavens or chugging through power chords, it plays effortlessly and sounds massive right out of the gate—no tweaks needed.

The RG470 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1998. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.

The RG470 went through several iterations throughout the years. For this third iteration production was returned to Japan from Korea and several changes were introduced over the second model, including a new bridge and pickups. This third generation RG470 was sold exclusively in the USA in 1998 and 1999 while the Korean-made second generation continued to be offered elsewhere. Production of the Korean model ceased after 1999 and this model was sold worldwide starting in 2000.

This RG470 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a double locking tremolo bridge, Ibanez Vintage pickups in an HSH configuration and a locking nut.

For 2003 the bridge was changed from the Lo-TRS to the Edge Pro. The 2003 and 2004 models were available only in Japan. Production was ceased after 2004.

Our Guarantee

We stand behind every guitar we sell. “Good enough” is never good enough. Every instrument is inspected, set up, and tested by multiple people immediately before shipping. We deliver the highest standard of quality and have built a reputation as a three-time NAMM Top 100 Dealer since 2009. The Dude Abides.

Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)

- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.

- Intonation is spot-on.

- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.

- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.

Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy

We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:

- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.

- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.

A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.

We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.

Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.

We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.

Payment, Shipping & International Duties

- All items can be shipped internationally. Buyer is fully responsible for all import duties, taxes, and customs fees.

- We accept PayPal, PayPal Credit, Affirm, and other major payment methods.

- Most U.S. shipments are sent via UPS or FedEx with full insurance, tracking, and signature confirmation. All packages are professionally packed for maximum protection.
