Fender American Hot Rod 60’s Nashville Telecaster guitar. This is a unique vintage-style Tele with classic 1960s-inspired specs and unusual electronics based on three single coil pickups.

If you like the shape and character of a Telecaster but also want the extended electronics known from a Strat (the “quack” sounds in positions 2 and 4 and the Clapton-style middle pickup), this is a special Tele with more tonal options. The third pickup is not a modification, this guitar was built this way at the factory. The Hot Rod series is known for such non-standard models inspired by guitarists’ ideas.

The specifications are very solid. This is not a budget instrument, but a higher-end guitar made in the USA. It features excellent pickups: a Custom Shop Broadcaster at the bridge, a Texas Special in the middle, and a Twisted Tele at the neck. In addition to the 5-way selector switch, there is also an S-1 switch that gives access to alternative pickup combinations. There is a lot to explore.

The guitar is comfortable and ergonomic. It has a D-shaped neck with a compound fingerboard radius, from a classic 7.25 inches at the nut (great for chords) to 12 inches in the higher positions (no problems with bending).

Visually, this is classic Fender retro style. The guitar has a nitrocellulose lacquer finish (traditional three-tone sunburst) and period-correct hardware.

The guitar is from 2016. There are small signs of use on the finish, such as light scratches and small dents (mostly on the edges), but overall it looks very good. Technically it is in great condition. Everything works properly and the frets are in excellent shape.
