1982 Fender Japan Precision Bass '57 Reissue (PB57) - Two-Tone Sunburst - Gold Anodized Pickguard - Documented Studio Use by Max Martin & Marino Stoess
Condition: Excellent Includes: Bass, original hardshell case Serial: JV00955 (early 1982 production, Fuji Gen Gakki, Matsumoto, Japan)
Overview
Early 1982 Fender Japan Precision Bass, model PB57, built to 1957 specifications by Fuji Gen Gakki in Matsumoto, Japan. The JV-series Fender Japan instruments were the first Fender-branded guitars produced outside the United States, built using Fender's original pre-CBS blueprints with full vintage detailing including two-tone sunburst, gold anodized aluminum pickguard, maple-on-maple neck, vintage-style cloverleaf tuners, and cloth-covered wiring harness. JV-era instruments are highly regarded for build quality and accuracy to the original '57 spec. The low serial JV00955 places this in the earliest production run of the JV series. From Brett Allen's Los Angeles studio rental collection with documented session use by Max Martin and Marino Stoess.
