Cherry Sunburst – and it’s the full late 1970s Norlin treatment – every continuous surface of the guitar other than the bound ebony fingerboard is bursted. No breaks, and lighter than is typical of ‘70s Customs. Replaced saddles, gold Duncan Antiquity humbuckers, what looks to be a new nut, and a newer hard case, otherwise stock. The Honduran mahogany body is not the “sandwich” type, Gibson having done away with that feature during 1978. Otherwise, typical Norlin features of the period – volute, maple neck, “Made in USA” stamp, Grover tuners, and so forth. Structurally excellent, fully functional truss rod, frets are in pretty decent shape, and the guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic. Great looks, great tones, responsive and articulate. A Cherry Sunburst Custom with Duncan pickups – get your Zappa on! Made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
