1949 Gibson ES-5 in Very Good condition. The neck is straight and the action is low. Frets are in good shape with plenty of life left. Electronics function perfectly. This is one of 12 prototypes made in June of 1949. Serial # A-3335. This guitar is extremely rare. New fret job (.085 x.050 Jescar fretwire) by Glasser guitars in Nashville. Guitar is in mostly original condition with no finish work or overspray. The crack by the jack is just in the top ply of the three ply laminate and has been that was for years and is very stable. The following parts have been replaced:

The tuners are 1969 Klusons that were brand new when installed and work perfectly.

The bridge pickup has been replaced with a 1951 Gibson P90.

The strap pin is non-original.

The saddle is a newer rosewood replacement.

The bridge pickup spacer is replaced with a period correct (pre-plastic).

There areLindy Fralin pickup spacers under all 3 pickup covers (these are easily removed, but improve the sound.

There is a strap pin added at the neck joint on the lower side.

Comes with a beautiful Cedar Creek case in nice condition.
