Jolana Iris USSR - Czech. 1974 Tele Style Very Good >> DEMO << Semi-restored ! RARE !

The Iris guitar by Jolana was actually made in Czechoslovakia (in the USSR) 1970s-80? It has been revised in the controls - it is now a three-way toggle switch for for the original USSR pickups and has Volume and Tone, like most other standard 2 pickup guitars - so much easier and without interfering with the pickups great tone. The original neck pickup was DOA and I had another similar USSR pickup to replace it. I am including the original wiring harness and neck pickup (as-is). Original hardware is there and fully working. Neck is excellent and truss rod still works. I did minor paint touchups and overcoated with smooth satin/matte clear poly to preserve - a method that works well on old, honest relic guitars. There are still a few minor rough spots that are now much less rough and barely visible. Vibrato works perfectly, as does the height and intonation-adjustable bridge. The control plate and V & T knobs are original. The input jack was changed to the standard 1/4". The upper strap button is also a screw-in small blade screwdriver - handy for adjustments.

These Iris model Jolana guitars are US (Fender) inspired in design and seem to be of high quality, play and sound very well. The USSR made parts are functional and different, adding to the charm of the guitar. They were heavily gigged in the USSR. This came from a Seller in Ukraine.
