The 1967 Gibson ES-335 in Cherry Red is an iconic representation of Gibson’s golden-era semi-hollow craftsmanship—combining the balanced resonance of a hollow body with the sustain and focus of a solid body. This mid-’60s example offers the classic voice and feel that have made the ES-335 one of the most celebrated electric guitars of all time.
Featuring a laminated maple/poplar/maple body, this ES-335 delivers articulate midrange presence and smooth low-end warmth. The vibrant Cherry Red finish showcases the elegant lines of the double-cutaway body, offering a timeless aesthetic that remains instantly recognizable on stages and in studios around the world.
The mid-’60s rounded mahogany neck profile provides a fast, comfortable playing experience, enhanced by the bound rosewood fingerboard and small-block inlays that define the model’s classic look. The slim 1 9/16" nut width gives the guitar a sleek feel, allowing for effortless playability across the entire fingerboard. Combined with the ergonomic double-cutaway design, upper-fret access is smooth and intuitive.
Equipped with original Patent No. humbuckers, this ES-335 delivers a rich tonal palette—from warm, rounded jazz voicings to expressive blues phrasing and articulate rock tones. These pickups are renowned for their clarity, dynamic response, and musical warmth, making this guitar a versatile tool for virtually any player. The standard mono wiring and traditional 3-way selector ensure straightforward operation and reliable performance. At common with Gibsons, at some point the headstock cracked and was very cleanly repaired. Please refer to photos for refrence.
