1961 Fender Bandmaster 6G7-A Piggyback Head and Cab - Blonde Tolex - Modified for Mesa Black Shadow - Brett Allen Studio Rental Collection

Condition: Very Good

Includes: Bandmaster 6G7-A head, matching blonde Tolex cab (modified baffle housing one Mesa Black Shadow MS-12), Danny Ghinn inspection sheet

Serial: 52598 (head)

Overview The 6G7-A is the first piggyback iteration of the Fender Bandmaster, introduced in late 1960 and produced through 1963. This 40-watt brown-panel circuit pairs a 6L6GC power section with Fender's lush harmonic vibrato (true bias tremolo) and the era's hallmark glassy clean headroom that breaks into organic, compressed overdrive when pushed. Rough blonde Tolex covering, brown control panel, and oxblood grille cloth across both head and cab. The head remains unmodified per Danny Ghinn's December 2025 inspection. The cab has been modified by a prior tech: the baffle was adapted to house a single Mesa Black Shadow MS-12 (8Ω, 150W) in place of the original speaker configuration, the back board was replaced, and the cabinet was re-vinyled as part of that work.
