This Custom Shop model faithfully replicates the hallmarks of a late ‘60s Stratocaster, featuring a four-bolt neck plate, large headstock with block logo, handwound gray bobbin pickups, “F” tuners, and a gloss Aged Firemist Red nitro lacquer finish.

Weighing 7lbs 11oz, tonewoods include an alder body, a maple neck with a U-shaped profile carve, and a maple fingerboard with a modern 9 1/2“ radius and 6105 fretwire. The trio of Custom Shop Handwound ‘69 single coil pickups deliver quintessential Stratocaster tonalities at each position on the five-way pickup selector switch, featuring period-correct construction with gray fiber bobbins, formvar wire, Alnico magnets (vintage stagger), and cloth-covered leads. The bridge pickup has ample snap and sparkle, the neck is full and gutsy while remaining articulate, and the “in-between” positions have hollow quack, with a low noise-floor thanks to the reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup. This Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
