The 1978 Music Man StingRay II is one of the most intriguing—and now increasingly rare—guitars from the early days of Music Man. Developed under the guidance of Leo Fender, Tom Walker, and Forrest White, this model represents a bold step toward modern electric guitar design while carrying the unmistakable fingerprint of the Fender founder.

With its solid hardtail construction, dual powerful humbuckers, and active electronics, the StingRay II delivers an impressive tonal range. From shimmering clean tones to tight, defined crunch and warm, articulate lead sounds, it covers a wide stylistic spectrum. The distinctive 2-band active EQ allows exceptionally precise tone shaping—a feature well ahead of its time and still impressive today.

The slim maple neck with its comfortable profile offers a fast, effortless playing feel, while the high-quality hardware and rugged build provide the reliability Music Man has been known for from the very beginning. Visually, the StingRay II blends unmistakable 70s character with a touch of futuristic flair, setting it apart from its contemporaries.
