Made in New York by the Favilla family since the 1890's, Favilla guitars and folk instruments have been sought-after for generations. Favilla's solid mahagony ukelele, often called the "poor man's Martin" is no exception.
This instrument is a single-family-owned Favilla B-2 Baritone ukelele, circa post 1957. My grandfather bought for my mother when she was a teenager in the late '50s, early '60s. I've played it sporadically since 2009, but now it's time to move on to a new home who can give it the love it deserves. Unlike most of my other listings, I have not done anything to this uke other than put a new set of strings on it. Original everything, including the case. If you'd like more pics or info, let me know.

This uke is balanced, loud, and plays wonderfully. But I don't play the uke (often, anyhow), and sentimental value was the only reason I've kept it. If you like playing ukes, and want a vintage, well-cared for 60+ y.o. instrument, this is the one.
