A 1977 Gibson Les Paul Special '55 Reissue in Dark Sunburst. Serial 73487003 dates it to 1977 by Gibson's own eight-digit scheme: the first and fifth digits give the year, the middle three the day, and 003 is Kalamazoo. Two P-90 style pickups, a wraparound bridge and simple controls, the single-cutaway Special recipe Gibson revived in the late seventies. P-90s in a slab mahogany body are raw and woody, with the bark that a humbucker Les Paul smooths over.
Marks and wear consistent with nearly fifty years of age, nothing dramatic or structural. The frets show normal wear for the age and still play clean. The tuners have been changed; everything else works.
Dark Sunburst. Good condition, shown in the photos. Comes with a hardshell case.
