Electric BearCub™ mini travel guitar

This is the electric version of my popular BearCub™ mini arch top guitar. It’s a 17” scale 6 string guitar, tuned B-B standard like you’re capoed at the 7th fret.

Most “travel” guitars try to maintain a full scale length and just shrink the body, or fold the neck, or have a snap-on neck joint, etc. These are all compromises that negatively affect tone, playability, ergonomics and happiness.

I decided why not just build a stellar instrument that is small and that guitarists can play?

This guitar is super easy to play, has amazing tone and can fit in the overhead compartment. Use it with your favorite headphone amp for silent practice in a hotel room, plug into your Marshall stack and rip some leads, or use it to layer some tasty tracks in the studio. Don’t think of it as a travel instrument so much as the guitar you bring when you have to leave your Les Paul Custom at home. Also, it looks pretty good on stage.

The Electric BearCub is 27” long head-to-toe with an 11.5” lower bout. This one is made of a beautiful piece of solid Cedar, finished with a hand-rubbed stain and semi gloss finish.

*This instrument, being the prototype, has a few handling marks from me fussing on it. That’s just to say it didn’t go straight from the setup bench into its case into a box, but rather it’s had a little fun already. And it’s ready for more!
