At the time, it was treated as a collector's item, considered "too wonderful to play." However, he finally began using it on stage in the early 2000s, and it has since become one of his most trusted instruments.
In 2022, Gibson Custom Shop released a limited edition of 200 Historic Spec ES-355 guitars aged by Murphy Lab.
We now have this rare Noel Gallagher 1960 ES-355 Murphy Lab Aged Sixties Cherry in stock!
It features a plain maple laminate body, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard.
The neck shape is a "SlimTaper" for excellent playability.
It is a historic spec ES-355 with a Varitone switch and Bigsby B7 vibrato.
The body color is "Sixties Cherry," a subdued and deep coloring.
The entire guitar has been aged by Murphy Labs with paint chipping and weather checking, giving it a look that exudes character.
It is equipped with two pickups that appear to be original Custombuckers (Unpotted).
The unpotted pickups faithfully reproduce vintage sounds and are a perfect match for the body.
This is an attractive guitar with the sweet, warm tone characteristic of early humbuckers.
As mentioned above, the overall aged finish makes it very difficult to identify scratches, but there appear to be very few scratches that seem to have been added later. It is clear that this guitar has been carefully maintained and treated with respect, preserving its original condition.
The accessories are also original to the time of manufacture, including a hard case, a replica "What A Life!" lyric card, a signed certificate of authenticity, and the same bear strap used by Noel.
This is one of only 200 guitars released worldwide, making it a truly valuable piece!
Finished with a vintage look by Murphy Labs, this ES-355 is recommended not only for fans but also for collectors!
