Overview

1953 Fender Twin 5C8 "Low Power" combo, the first Fender amplifier built with two speakers and a one-year-only wide-panel tweed cabinet. Approximately 40 watts (per Ghinn), 2x12 configuration with two period Jensen alnico speakers (P12Q dated 1956, P12R dated 1954). Inspected and serviced by Los Angeles technician Danny Ghinn. Original Triad 6516 power transformer present; output transformer replaced with a 1969 Fender unit (same type used in the Bassman). Filter capacitors replaced with Sprague Atom TVA-1906 units. Circuit stabilized with updated components where necessary.

  • Speakers: Two period-correct Jensen alnicos dated 1956 and 1954
  • Filter caps and multiple smaller components replaced; original power transformer retained
  • Operational: Fully functional following service
