Gretsch New Yorker Model Archtop Acoustic/Electric Guitar (1955), made in Brooklyn, NY, serial # 16301
sunburst lacquer finish, laminated maple body, laminated spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard.
This guitar was consistently played from 1955 to the present day, and it was nicely maintained with several improvements:
- Pickguard mounted Benedetto S6 pickup
- Custom made wiring harness made by Tom Jones of TV Jones
- Kluson tailpiece
- Sperzel locking tuners
- 1.75" natural bone nut
- Comes with a fabric gig bag
Dimensions:
- Overall length is 41"
- Lower bout:16" wide
- Upper bout: 11 3/4" wide
- Body depth at the lower bout: 3 5/16"
- Scale length: 25"
- String spacing at the bridge: 2 1/8"
- String height at 12th fret: Low E 4/32", High E 3/32"
Condition:
- All bindings are good
- No apparent cracks on the guitar
- Some lacquer crazing
- Lacquer overspray from previous repairs
- Not aware of any neck resets, neck is straight
- Small buckle rash dents on back of guitar
- Back of neck shows wearing away of stain from playing
- The Benedetto pickup is not attached to the body. It is attached to the pickguard
- Previously, it appears that a pickup was attached to the body, but the holes are filled
