This Legacy Collection model brings Bob Taylor’s original square-shoulder dreadnought into the spotlight with a fresh, modern voice. It features elegant Cindy inlays, a stunning Heritage Burst top, scalloped bracing, a tapered deep body, and a comfortable 24-7/8” scale length. According to Bob himself, this is one of his all-time favorite guitars—an endorsement that speaks volumes about its craftsmanship and character. This one is gorgeous and it has the tone to match.

Created in celebration of Taylor’s 50th anniversary, the Legacy Collection honors Bob Taylor’s earliest guitar designs with original body shapes and voicing concepts—thoughtfully updated for today’s players under Bob’s direction. The Legacy 810e Special Edition Heritage Burst continues this tradition with a square-shoulder interpretation of Bob’s first Indian rosewood/Sitka spruce dreadnought, inspired by the American Dream workshop where his craft began. It pairs beautifully with the rounded-shoulder Legacy 810e introduced earlier in 2024, which represents the next stage in the model’s design evolution.

Deeper Square-Shoulder Body - Built on Bob’s original square-shoulder design, this Legacy 810e features a deeper taper in the lower bout, adding fullness, presence, and enhanced low-end response.

Refined X-Bracing - Taylor’s classic X-Bracing has been carefully reworked here to deliver greater warmth, depth, and projection, giving the guitar a more open, expressive voice.

24-7/8” Scale Length - With its comfortable 24-7/8” scale length—used on select Taylor dreadnoughts over the years—this model offers a slightly more relaxed feel for easier fretting, while retaining the rich tone players expect. Combined with the deeper body and optimized bracing, it creates a dreadnought that delivers strong bass warmth and articulate detail across a variety of styles.
