This is one of Sansui’s classic, warm, musical solid-state designs and a fantastic match for efficient vintage speakers and vinyl setups.

If you’ve been looking for a plug-and-play AU-777 that hasn’t been hacked up or over-modified, this is a great candidate. It has not been recapped, so the sound character remains true to the original voicing.

Overall, the unit presents very nicely for its age with honest vintage cosmetics:

• Front panel: Clean with readable lettering and typical light marks from normal use.
• Knobs & switches: All present and in good shape, no obvious damage.
• Wood case: Very presentable with normal small dings/marks from age and handling.
• Rear panel: Clean, no broken jacks or hack repairs.

This is used, vintage gear, not a museum piece – so please zoom in on all photos to judge cosmetics for yourself.

Recently serviced and cleaned (but not recapped):

• Controls and switches cleaned and exercised.
• Rear connections cleaned.
• Basic functional testing on all main inputs and outputs.
• Auditioned with real speakers at moderate listening levels for an extended period – no glaring issues noted (no loud hum, no crackling at normal operation after cleaning).

As with all vintage gear, small intermittent noises or quirks can appear over time, but it is currently performing well and sounding great.
