1955 Fender tweed Deluxe 5E3 narrow panel Vintage 1x12 tube amp with original major components (transformers, tweed, speaker, baffle & grill, back panels, and chassis) with a recent service and ready to enjoy.
This is a nice example of a first year Deluxe 5E3, the most sought after Fender amp currently. The chrome on the chassis control panel is very clean and shiny, silk screen numbers are intact. The Tube chart is wholly intact as is the fragile tweed (linen) covering showing some light superficial staining, patina and honest wear. The amp received an update of the electrolytic and coupling caps for safety and optimal performance. Quality Jupiter branded capacitors were chosen and re-sleeved to maintain a vintage appearance. The original red Astron tone cap is retained (on the tone pot) a grounded cord was added.. The amplifier sounds absolutely splendid, idles quietly and ready for daily use for years to come. This electronic service saves the buyer hundreds of dollars, down time, and ensures satisfaction your purchase. Check out my feedback, buyers appreciate my efforts in ensuring a great purchase experience for vintage amps. Please view the pictures as part of the description.

Of note, The first few early 55 Deluxe 5E3’s were the rare ‘small box’ 16.5 × 18 inch cab version. This amp is the typical 16.5 x 20 inch cabinet which remained until 1961 and the change to Tolex. Also, The First year Deluxe’s had the ‘FENDER’ name-only badge as did all the 55 narrow panel lineup. The next year a name badge would designate the model as ‘FENDER DELUXE’.
This 70 year-old Fender amplifier is being sold in "AS-IS" condition despite being in excellent working order. As voltages in the 50 & 60’s were between 110-115 Volts (now days voltages more like 122-127) I recommend using a voltage attenuation box like the Brownbox or variac to avoid damage to some original components. Feel free to ask questions if you have any concerns. Insured shipping quote Includes careful packing. Thank you for the interest.
Due to the age of the instrument and vintage components, this amp is sold strictly as is with no returns.
