MXR Custom Badass ’78 Distortion

An MXR Custom Badass ’78 Distortion pedal – a versatile, hot-rodded distortion voiced to capture classic late-’70s rock tones. It’s designed to take your clean or slightly driven amp into saturated, harmonically rich territory without getting muddy.

Controls: Output, Tone, and Distortion, plus the Crunch button, which adds extra bite and aggression when you need it. Lower gain settings handle open, vintage-style crunch, while higher settings deliver thick, singing lead tones with plenty of sustain. It stacks well with boosts and overdrives, making it an easy fit on most pedalboards.

Built in MXR’s familiar compact enclosure with a sturdy footswitch and top-mounted status LED, it runs on standard 9V power and is built to withstand regular gigging.

Condition:

This pedal is in very good condition. There are a few light marks to the casing from normal use, but nothing significant and nothing that affects its operation (see photos). All controls, switches and jacks are working exactly as they should.

A great option if you’re after a reliable, classic-voiced distortion with a bit of extra punch on tap.
