Beautiful Matsumoku build quality from 1975 complete with original hard case and original sales material.

Overall cosmetically this has been very well looked after in its 50+ years lifetime.

The original sunburst body finish is in super shape with no cracks, splits, repairs or mods of any kind. Body and neck bindings are clean all round. One small scratch to the lower back and one stain to the binding. (See pics) Aside from this, it's pretty close to flawless.

The neck and head are immaculate. The rosewood fretboard is excellent, fret condition is very good and inlays are all sound.

Hardware is shiny, original and fully functional.

We just got this back from a full pro set up.

The original neck pickup had a very low output so after some experimentation, we replaced it with a Seymour Duncan 'Phatcat' single coil. (Designed to fit perfectly in the same slot without body modifications)

We upgraded the pots to better accommodate the excellent variations now possible from the s/c + humbucker combination. They really balance superbly. So as you can imagine this lovely lad now offers some seriously cool tonal options.

This is vintage Japanese guitar building at its finest. Superb full body tones from crystalline to deeply muscular and all stops in between.

A delight for the hands and a treat for the eyes and ears.

Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
