A Specialized, Hand-Hammered Voice with Unprecedented Character

This is an exceptional example of the highly revered and discontinued Sabian Artisan Vault series, purchased in 2007. This 22" Medium Ride is a complex, musical instrument, renowned for its individual voice and specialized attributes.

Unique Character & Sound Profile

• Tonal Quality: A distinctly dark and sophisticated tone. It sits on the dry end of the spectrum, offering controlled wash and sustain.
• The Bell: The hand-hammered bell sounds truly special, offering a rich, clear, and complex tone that projects beautifully and integrates seamlessly with the body of the cymbal.
• Patina & Sound: A natural patina has formed, heavier along one edge, which is a key contributor to its singular complexity and specialized sound profile. This characteristic is valued by drummers who appreciate nuanced, unique instruments.
• Versatility: This cymbal defies easy classification—it's heavy for a typical jazz ride yet dark and dry for a rock ride. This blend makes it highly versatile for unique musical contexts, but it may not suit every player's needs.
• Overall: This cymbal is genuinely unique; it offers a complex, sophisticated, and dark palette that stands out from other cymbals on the market.

Condition Report

The cymbal is in Very Good to Excellent structural condition for its age (2007 vintage).

• Patina: Features a natural patina that is very heavy on one edge, which is a key contributor to its unique sonic character.
• Edges: The edges are generally smooth and free of major damage, but there may be some small, cosmetic nicks or minor flea bites that are typical of a played cymbal. These minor surface marks do not affect the structural integrity or the sound quality whatsoever.
• No sign of keyholing.
• Logos: The original Sabian and Artisan logos are visible, though somewhat faded.

Note: I am selling this cymbal simply because it no longer suits my playing style. This is an excellent find for a player who appreciates unique tonal depth and a well-matured voice.
