Guild Starfire Bass.

This the version with the bound neck.

I have replaced the original tuners with Hipshot Ultralites which absolutely eliminated the neck dive that these are known for. I could have done a better job of getting these perfectly straight, the mounting is a little messy in the back of the headstock but they work perfecrly. The original tuners would cover all the holes that were drilled for these, but I couldn’t imagine wanting those back on instead of the Hipshots.

The bass is set up with medium low action using Thomastik Infield Jazz Flats (note: the La Bella’s were on when I took these pictures)

The Guild BiSonics have a really nice growly tone. Set it up on the neck pickup and you have a ticket to Phil Lesh’s Live Dead era tone, if you’re into that kind of thing as I am

It comes with:

* Original Guild Hardshell case in very good shape

* Original Grover Tuners

* 3 extra wood bridge saddles from Guild

* a used set of LaBella Low Tension Flats if you want a little more tension I had these on this bass for a month or two

* a set of used D’addario Chrome flats cut for this bass, in case you like even more tension, these were on the bass for a couple of weeks, they weren’t my thing
