Beautiful mid-century Regal archtop, most likely built in the Harmony factory in Chicago between 1958–1963. Regal was acquired by Harmony in the mid-1950s, and during this period many Regal-branded guitars were produced alongside Harmony models using the same tooling, finishes, hardware, and construction methods. This one definitely fits that era.
Classic tobacco/vintage sunburst finish, carved-style pressed archtop body, floating rosewood bridge, trapeze tailpiece, block inlays, and the original open-gear tuners—all intact and functioning smoothly.
This one plays exceptionally well for its age. The neck is comfortable, action is nice and low without buzzing, and it feels inspiring—more of a player’s instrument than a wall-hanger.
A great example of a Chicago-made archtop with that dry, punchy, midrange-forward voice perfect for blues, swing, early jazz comping, or rootsy acoustic recording.
