Silvertone 1448 Amp-in-Case Electric Guitar/Tube Amp

I was amazed at the quality, playability, and sound this setup provided considering it's age. The guitar is setup beautifully with low action, clean tones, and projective sustain. While it may pass as a solid body at first glance, it has the unmistakable warm and soft sound of a semi-hollow.

This guitar is vintage 1960s, made by Silvertone and sold exclusively through Sears. This model is known as an amp-in-case model, the amplifier is built into the top-half of the hard-shell guitar case. A simple 3-watt amplifier with 2 tubes plus 1 tube rectifier, 5-inch speaker, and gain control; fully-functional. The front end of the case has its top half covered in cloth for the speaker.  The semi-hollow body is composed of a poplar center block and frame with Masonite top and back. It comes with a single lipstick pickup at the "middle" position, controlled by a volume and tone knob. The poplar neck is fitted with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, and only has 18 frets. The neck is connected to the body with three bolts. The sides are an off-white faux-tweed vinyl.

Overall this piece has been kept in incredible working condition, feels and sounds great, and would make a perfect addition to any collection.
