This pedal is a clone of the legendary Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster. This particular unit has a Made in England Mullard OC41 transistor and a range switch added for extra flexibility. The pedal is solely powered by the top DC jack. Any regular center negative Boss-type supply will work but daisy chain8ng may increase the pedal’s noise floor. Isolated power is always preferable.
Controls:
Range Switch - With the switch “up” the pedal is a stock treble booster. This is very useful for pushing closed back British style amplifiers and getting more cut and clarity from amps and fuzzes. The “down” setting is a low/full-range boost that boosts your signal from incredibly low frequencies all the way up. Try setting this with Hasse’s and keyboards too.
Boost - Self-explanatory. There is a LOT of volume on tap so tread carefully.
This pedal works splendidly to push overdrives and fuzzes even harder. Put it first in your chain to increase saturation and definition OR put it after your dirt to sculpt your tone and get a substantial volume boost. As with most germanium circuits, expect slight tonal variation depending on the ambient temperature.
