Used - Good Condition
- Body: this guitar has been refinished (we're not sure what the original finish was), plus it may have been relic'd as there is a lot of really cool checking in the finish; a few scuff marks, scratches, dings, and dents can be seen on the top, back, and sides, plus a couple of small chips in the finish can be found around the edges--light buckle rash; the pickguard and electronics cover have some light scratches on them, plus one of the screws is missing from the electronics cover
- Neck, Fretboard, and Headstock: the fretboard has a few very small dings to be found in it that should not affect playability; the back of the neck shows the same checking in the lacquer as found on the body, plus a few scratches and small dings in the lacquer can be found that are barely noticeable to the touch and should not affect comfort or playability--there is a "rough" spot at about the 11th fret position that has been lacquered over; the headstock shows the same checking in the lacquer as found on the neck and body, plus the front facing has some scratches and a couple of tiny dings while the sides show some larger dings and wear in the finish, most noticeable at the very end of the headstock
- Action and Playability: the action is kind of high due to the neck being bowed forward, however there is not truss rod for adjustment
- Frets: light to moderate wear
- Hardware: the tuners have several very tiny rust spots and the buttons have a slightly aged tint to them; the tailpiece has some obvious wear in the finish; the bridge is intact
- Electronics: all functions flawlessly; the pickup has a few tiny dings in it
- Includes: electric guitar and Vox hardshell case

The K-125 was Kay's first solid-body electric guitar, produced in the early 1950s, and is a precursor to the more famous "Stratotone" models. Its body is often called the "Peanut" shape due to its silhouette. It has the absurdly-long 25-7/8" scale length that all the "professional" Kay guitars tend to have. This lets them detune beautifully but also means that per any given gauge the tension will be a little higher than on a "normal" scale. The "Thin Twin" pickup on this K-125 is a single-coil pickup, with an "On/Off" toggle switch for the Tone control...when in the On-position the gingal bypasses the Tone. This vintage beauty has been refinished to a gloss teal green, and possibly relic'd as the finish does show a lot of really cool checking in the lacquer. This Kay 72 years old "Peanut" is a part of rock'n'roll history and still sounds incredible...players and collectors take notice!
