The DOD FX55B Supra Distortion is a vintage, high-gain guitar effects pedal known for its aggressive, gritty tone popular in the late 1980s and 1990s rock and metal genres.

• Type of Effect: High-gain distortion pedal. It functions as an overdriven preamplifier, simulating the "clipping" distortion sound of a cranked guitar amplifier.
• Controls: The pedal features a simple, three-knob interface for intuitive sound shaping:
• • Level: Controls the overall output volume.
  • Tone: Adjusts the EQ or brightness of the sound.
  • Distortion: Sets the amount of gain and saturation.
• Sound Profile: It provides a symmetrical standard distortion with an extra gain boost in its upper range, resulting in a distinct, punchy midrange and a raw, crunchy sound. It has been described as having a warmer sound compared to the later FX55C model and a unique character that does not simply replicate other popular pedals like the BOSS DS-1 or Ibanez Tube Screamer.
