The 2016 Bourgeois 00 Custom is the kind of small bodied guitar that invites you in before you even strike a note. Though gently used, it has been treated with uncommon care and remains in excellent condition, carrying the feel of a guitar that has been cherished rather than simply owned.

Its Redwood top is the heart of its voice. Redwood has a softness that responds to the lightest touch, yet it carries an inner strength that releases a warm, glowing tone with surprising depth. The figured English Walnut back and sides add a natural clarity and a sweet, woody resonance that keeps each note focused while still full of color. The craftsmanship surrounding these woods is thoughtful and beautifully balanced. Cocobolo bindings trace the body, fingerboard and headstock in rich, warm lines, and the Cocobolo tile rosette circles the soundhole like an intricate piece of inlaid artwork. Black, maple and black purfling frames the top cleanly, while the DB Signature backstrip gives the rear of the guitar a refined, unmistakably Bourgeois character. Figured English Walnut reappears as the heel cap and tail wedge, tying the instrument together with quiet elegance.

A Honduran mahogany neck supports an ebony fingerboard and matching ebony belly bridge, creating a stable and resonant core. The fingerboard is dressed with classic bone diamonds and squares, and the headstock wears a dark Ziricote veneer beneath a shimmering mother of pearl Bourgeois logo. Gold Waverly tuning machines with Snakewood buttons finish the presentation with a graceful, vintage inspired touch. A celluloid tortoiseshell pickguard protects the Redwood top without distracting from its natural beauty.

With a 14 fret neck joint, 25 inch scale length, 1 and three quarter inch nut and 2 and 5/16 inch bridge spacing, the guitar feels balanced and effortless in hand.
