1991 Fender Deluxe Strat Plus – Natural Ash – 1982 Rosewood “Dan Smith Era” J Torres Neck (one of the most famous neck builders)– Custom ‘69 Pickups – 2-Point Trem – Tweed Case

This is a unique and fantastic-sounding Strat that blends some of Fender’s best parts from two great eras. I’ve owned it for over 20 years, and it’s been one of the most resonant and inspiring Strats I’ve had — it even gives my ’63 (currently at Carter’s Vintage) a run for its money.

Body (1991 Deluxe Strat Plus)

• Natural Northern Ash body (~7 lbs by itself)
• Beautiful grain, big resonance, piano-like sustain
• Comes with the American 2-Point Tremolo used on certain Deluxe/Plus models

Neck (1982 Rosewood – Dan Smith Era; Torres Neck)

• Smooth, comfortable, and extremely stable
• Curved Stratocaster logo with smaller headstock
• Perfect match for the ash body — this neck is a big part of why the guitar plays so well

Electronics

• Brand-new, fully loaded Fender pickguard
• Custom ‘69 pickups (some of my all-time favorite Strat pickups)
• Clean, glassy chime with great articulation
• Can also get surprisingly thick and powerful — very SRV-style when you dig in

Hardware

• Hipshot Trem-Setter installed (original springs)
• Excellent tuning stability
• Smooth trem action without losing the Strat feel

Extremely lively and responsive.
Bright, articulate highs + woody mids from the ash, with that classic bell tone that Strats are known for. The combination of this body, this neck, and the Custom ‘69s just works.
