This rare, pair of 1964 Vox labeled Oxford 12J4-37, 12 inch 8 Ohm speakers came to me in a 1960s Vox 4x12 cabinet. The cab is way too big to pack/ship so I am selling the speakers. I connected the quad to my Super Beatle and they sounded fine----not as good as my Silver Bells. I am happy to sell all four as a package and I will consider selling a single speaker.
This pair appears to have been doped, the voice coils move smoothly with no rubbing. Just noticed that one speaker appears to have had a tear along the edge (I'm guessing from a sharp screw when installing or removing) which explains the doppong. I'm lowering the price because of this and can sell the speakers separately......the speaker still seems to be working just fine.
The final pic is of the Vox Cabinet they came in----the Cab is not part of this sale but available locally.
