In 2012, Gibson's Custom Shop, under the direction of legendary Rick Gembar, was bursting with creative output. Alongside the brilliant "Collector's Choice" series, a whole range of faithful reissues of famous instruments were produced. Among them was this "Paul Kossoff Tom Murphy Aged," limited to 100 pieces. Every detail matches Kossoff's original '59 Les Paul, and of course, the breathtaking flamed maple top was perfectly selected. The 100 models produced sold out even before production began, and Kossoffs, mostly in collectors' hands, are rarely offered for sale today. Our model, serial number 082, was exported to Japan, where it remained with its first owner until 2019, after which it was sold back to Austria. The frets, like the entire instrument, are in perfect, mint condition and have only been polished by our luthier .
