Vintage Ludwig Classic P87 Snare Strainer Throw-Off
Made between 1967 - 1989.
Player grade, some light pitting and scratches to chrome.
Good working condition. The lever functions as it should, the tension adjustment knob turns smoothly all the way in and out. Has the baseball bat throw but missing the mounting bolts and washers.
The P-87 Classic Snare Drum Strainer Throw-Off was probably most famous as the choice of Buddy Rich for his signature model #900 Super Classic snare drum from the late 40s well into the 50s. It remained the Strainer Throw-Off for the #900 Super Classic for many years beyond that period into the 70s and was utilized as the standard issue Strainer Throw-Off for the Symphonic model well into the 70s/80s as well as the standard issue Strainer Throw-off for the Rock/Concert model snare drum in the 80s.
