Gibson EB-3 1971

Je mets à la vente cette Gibson Eb3 2e Gen (avec le micro manche légèrement reculé par rapport aux 1eres. Les potentiomètres datent de 1970,la basse qui porte le numéro 108392 certainement de 1971. Elle est dans un état remarquable pour son âge mais j'ai du la remettre à l'état d'origine. Effectivement, comme beau coup d'instruments à l'époque, des musiciens avaient envie de rajouter un micro ce qui a été le cas entre les 2 micros existant. J'ai donc placé un cache noir pour masquer la cavité et comme il y avait 3 interrupteurs sur le pickguard, j'ai collé une plaque adhésive retaillée. Pour lesnouristes, un pickguard d'origine coûte dans les 100€. Tout fonctionne à merveille, le son est gras, le varitone permet pas mal de combinaisons de tonalités différentes. Le trussrod fonctionnel, manche bien réglé, c'est un régal de jouer sur la même basse (shortscale) que Jack Bruce et Bill Wyman!

I'm selling this Gibson EB3 2nd Gen (with the neck pickup slightly set back compared to the earlier models). The potentiometers date from 1970, but the bass, serial number 108392, is certainly from 1971. It's in remarkable condition for its age, but I had to restore it to its original state. Indeed, like many instruments at the time, some musicians wanted to add a pickup, which is what happened between the two existing ones. So I put a black cover over the cavity, and since there were three switches on the pickguard, I glued on a cut-out adhesive plate. For those interested, an original pickguard costs around €100. Everything works perfectly, the sound is fat, and the Varitone allows for a good number of different tone combinations. The truss rod is functional, the neck is well set up, and it's a real treat to play the same bass (shortscale) as Jack Bruce. and Bill Wyman!
