The RB820 is a "Deluxe" edition Roadstar II Bass series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1983. It was produced at the Terada Plant in Japan.
The RB820 features a double-cutaway alder and birch body with arched top bolted to a maple neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers and white side dots and a maple headstock. Components include a Super J6 passive pickup, an Accu-cast B II bridge with 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut, Velve tune B II tuning machines and Ibanez "Dead End" strap buttons.
The RB820 was only offered in 1983.
This bass was owned by one of our favorite clients, and used on a thousand gigs. In 2018, a full neck-off restoration was done:
- The body was professionally refinished in Snow White pearl.
- The original plastic nut was replaced by a bone nut.
- The original bridge was replaced with a brand new one.
- The frets were leveled and dressed.
- The assembled bass was professionally set up (action and intonation).
The bass has been sitting in the case, unplayed, since then.
It comes with the original Ibanez hard shell case. It's a little road-worn, but fully functional.
Whether you're a fan of Ibanez basses, looking for a p-bass alternative, or just love classic instruments, this is a great opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind mint condition vintage bass.
