1989 Martin D-16-M in near mint condition with rare Gloss finish. Traditional dove tail construction. Spruce top with scalloped braces, smaller maple bridge plate, Style 18 rosette, Style 18 neck, stained dark, no heelcap. Rosewood bridge and fingerboard, Style 17 dots, gloss finish with toned top. Extremely light and resonant featuring that classic Martin dry mahogany tone. Basically, a D-18V without a V neck. Frets are great, plenty of saddle left. Small crack on the side professionally fixed by Martin authorized luthier.

From 1986 to 1990 style 16M was made primarily for export and was not generally available in USA. Most were sold in Canada and few in Europe. It was trade show special in 1987, 1989 and 1990. Some dealers ordered these with a gloss finish when the factory specs were for satin finishes.

Original case. Serial # 488438.
