Vintage PRE-CBS late 1965 / early 1965 Fender Stratocaster Body

Time to complete that vintage Strat project build!

This one has the vibe!   This killer PRE-CBS Strat body was refinished decades ago in a very professional manner in the most authentic Candy Apple Red imaginable - with the correct silver undercoat!   It appears to have originally been a Sunburst body as you can see remnants of the original finish and sealer "FullerPlast" in the neck pocket and trem cavity.  The body has not been over sanded and none of the contours have been altered. It measures the proper depth in all locations.   The neck that accompanied this body dated to January of 1965.

At a weight of 4lbs 5oz, this body is light and incredibly resonant. The neck pocket shows some faint remnants of inspection markings as commonly found on Strats of this year, the pickup routes are undisturbed with nice sharp edges, the worm route still has a little "chew" left on it!    The finish has worn wonderfully with nice natural relic-ing.   There were two small holes added under the guard (likely to keep the original guard from lifting) - but are totally hidden once the guard is mounted. Other than that - there are absolutely no routes or modifications of any kind.

This Strat body came to us with all original parts: the neck, neckplate, tuners, pickups, pots and plastics are available in our other auctions. Pre-CBS Strat parts have gotten next to impossible for us to source. If you've been on the hunt for a real deal PRE-CBS body, don't miss this - it will likely be quite awhile before we see another!
