Hi! I am the original maker of the Freakshow Effects Brown Rabbit, which later was simply called "the Rabbit". The once-upon-a-time #1 pedal at Musitoyz.com!

Back from a 7+ year Hiatus! I have had MANY people ask me where I went and if they could get a pedal....I have been making guitar amps and only recently decided to make a very limited number of effect pedals again....see my store to see what I have available.

About the Fruity Toot Compressor:

About 14 years ago I had a Dan Armstrong orange "crusher" compressor pedal and loved it! I eventually traced the circuit and designed a circuit board for it. Well......I basically forgot about it for all these years and recently I said... "HEY that was a great pedal!!!!" so I decided it was time to make my own version of that classic compressor. SO here we are... the "Fruity Toot" is born! I took the circuit and made a few tweaks to it.... I added a TREBLE control, that is basically a treble boost. At zero it is the stock circuit with no treble added. As you turn it up it adds treble but DOES NOT cut bass at all. This adds a nice SPARKLE to your tine which I love about compressors in general. (good ones) I also added an external "Bias" adjustment that is unlike any others on the market for this circuit.... mine has a super fine trimpot that is accessed via the top of the pedal. One of the things people complain about in the orange squeezer circuit is the difficulty to hit the "sweet spot" with the bias adjustment....I solved this by putting a super fine 25-turn trimmer on the bias control. This expands the "sweet spot" to an easier to adjust option. I also use vintage capacitors and resistors where they make the most difference in the circuit. Does this make a difference? I think so... thus I scoured the earth for quality vintage components to put in these pedals. I have also experimented with various chips and have come up with a few that I think are worth a try! MOST pedals will ship with a NE5532 chip.

CONTROLS ARE:

  • TREBLE - this adds sparkle to your tone. It is a treble boost circuit that DOES NOT cut bass. Turning this knob all the way OFF will essentially cut it out of the circuit.
  • VOLUME - self explanitory, this adjusts the output of the pedal. (2o'clock is roughly unity gain)
  • TRIMMER - the trimmer is the bias adjustment for the pedal. It comes pre set from ME in what I consider the sweet spot. This of course can vary according to your guitars pickups and personal taste. Adjust it if you so choose. Directions are included on how to set this.

If you have any questions please feel free to message me! PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE COMMITTING TO BUYING A PEDAL. I cannot accept any returns!
