1959 lefty Stratocaster with OHSC. As is common with lefty Fenders during the 50's, it was assembled using parts from earlier lefty runs with a '57 V-neck, one-piece alder body and bakelite pickguard and tremolo cover. The neck plate is early '59. The 3-color sunburst shows some finish checking and there is considerable wear to the original frets. The maple neck is quartersawn and as a result, very stable and straight. The original tremolo arm is missing, and the low E-string tuner has been replaced with one from the period. Pickups, wiring, pots, capacitor, switch, knobs, pickup covers are original and have not been apart. The pickup rubbers show deterioration as expected. The tweed case is in fair-good condition with broken latch springs and wear to the handle but it is solid with good hinges.

I bought the guitar from a NYC dealer shortly after the 2008 crash in the vintage market, selling a right-handed '55 Strat to fund the purchase. A right-handed nut was cut as I play lefty guitars strung right. The original, undamaged left-handed nut is in the case, and no changes were made to the strap button position. If sold, it will be shipped next-day air with the carrier of your choice.

11/12 Update: In response to a question I took another look at the guitar searching for some kind of markings on the body. With the right light i can see "LEFT HAND" scratched into the wood in the neck pocket. Can't see it at all in the photo due to glare. I will provide a better photo and also check the trem rout closer. No pencil that day?

The last photo uploaded shows the crude "LEFT HAND" scratched into the neck pocket wood and underlined twice. It is under the lacquer of course and easy to miss without magnification. The L and E are easy to spot, the F and T just barely.
